As you know, I usually give a "Kittie Quote" at the end of a post, but this quote I found was too real for me, that I had to share it first.
Fellow cat owners, you and I both know that cats detest closed doors!
Tyler used to lay down outside of closed doors, whether my room, my parents room or a bathroom and stick his paw underneath the door. He was very polite about it, he would sometimes let out a little sound and be done with it. He knew that one of us would get up and let him in...he was too darn cute!
Wiggles on the hand is quite the opposite. Propriety is thrown out the window when it comes to him. He will push at the door with his paw, (sometimes softly other times like he's trying to break the door down). He always "cries" (which is what we call it when he meows very pitifully), very loudly. But of course when I let him in, he stays for about 2 minutes and then "cries" to get back out. So I (being such a good owner) get up again and open the door. BUT instead of going out, he rubs against my legs and proceeds in the OPPOSITE direction of the open door. So I close it again and sit back down. 30 seconds to 1 minute later he's back at the door again. So I do the same thing...and so does he. But I have experimented. If I leave the door open after he "cries" Wiggles, will lay down (usually right in the doorway (so I can't close the door)) and look outside my bedroom. And so I have concluded that he just doesn't like closed doors.
In our new house the door to my bedroom doesn't close all the way. Well, I guess it closes, but it doesn't latch or catch on the doorframe. So Wiggles can push my door open very easily without even turing the knob. Wiggles found out one day when I was determined not to let him in, and he was determine to come in. He's never forgotten this new skill of his. I actually have to lock my door (with a lock mounted on the door frame) to keep him out, (which of course I hardly ever do...he's too darn cute to keep out).
All that to say, I agree with the statement that "Cats are always on the wrong side of the door."

Wiggles is such a cutie:) He is wayyyy to cute to ignore~I know from experience *wink, wink*
Though I have no kitties, I have Chester, who hates it when my door is shut. He will come and snuffle under the bottom of the door, and that's it. But you know he's still there because he'll give a whine every few minutes to remind you. When I open the door, he's sitting there, tail wagging.
Don't you love it when your pet just wants to be with you? Unless you have door tangles with them...
